“We in Illinois are very fortunate to have a number of historic structures that have added immeasurably to the cultural life of the state, to the tourism industry of the state, which by the way is our number one industry.”
James R. Thompson (1936 - )
37th Governor of Illinois from 1977 to 1991
Congratulations to all newly elected officials.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago has launched a Peer City Identification Tool (PCIT) to help cities identify other cities that are experiencing similar trends or challenges. Identifying a city’s peers can give needed context to policymakers and practitioners. See the PCIT at https://chicagofed.org/region/community-development/data/pcit.
Coming next month!
The Illinois Municipal League Review magazine is getting a face lift, and we’ll be unveiling the new look with the June issue. The current Review design has been with us for almost 10 years and we felt it was time for an update. The regular columns and features you’ve come to rely on will still be there, but with a fresh, modern new look that we think will be easier to navigate and read. We look forward to sharing the new format with you and will welcome your comments and suggestions.
